Prior to founding Lakeside, Matt was a Senior M&A Advisor at a boutique M&A Advisory firm for 5+ years where he represented sellers and buyers in an array of industries. Matt was also previously the Director of M&A at a publicly traded waste management company with a $6B market cap. With 100+ closed deals under his belt, Matt has been on all sides of the deal and understands the nuances and perspectives of all parties involved. As Managing Director of Lakeside Acquisitions, Joe leads the due diligence and closing processes and assists on all offer negotiations for each transaction. Joe works directly with buyers and sellers, as well as their respective accountants, attorneys, lenders, and consultants to ensure each deal closes quickly and efficiently. Joe’s attention to detail, project management expertise, and command of complicated negotiations, as well as his vast M&A experience across an array of industries, ensures a smooth closing process for our clients. Joe began his career at a mid-sized Chicago law firm, with a focus on commercial leasing, financial services, and corporate transactions. Matt Hillin

Matt Hillin is a Senior M&A Advisor at Lakeside Acquisitions, focused on advising clients in the oil & gas, waste & recycling, manufacturing, construction, and other industrial & commercial services industries. Throughout his career, Matt has been an advisor or principal on over 25 transactions totaling over $11B in aggregate value, and he brings a diverse mix of transactional, strategic, and operational experience to best advise his clients. Prior to joining Lakeside, Matt was VP of Corporate Development for a high-growth waste service and technology company, and previously served in the corporate development group of a Fortune 200 waste management company. Additionally, Matt was an investment banker at two globally recognized investment banks and began his career as an engineer designing and constructing infrastructure for the energy and aerospace & defense industries. Kelsey serves as VP of Operations responsible for overseeing all of Lakeside Acquisitions’ processes and procedures, including office management, client relations, marketing, and internal administration. She assists with Business Valuations and specializes in organizational processes to ensure every transaction and communication with Lakeside is as efficient and smooth as possible. With a background in both finance and marketing, Kelsey formerly served as the Director of Business for a Chicago-based management firm, where she was responsible for all financial and business processes.
