Lakeside Acquisitions is pleased to announce the sale of Recycle Capital to WM (NYSE: WM). Recycle Capital, family-owned and operated by Jorge and Jeannette Barreto, served as the largest independent, premier Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris disposal and recycling company in the South Florida market. With the addition of Recycle Capital, WM will expand its significant footprint in the State of Florida, providing strategic access to the Florida East Coast Railway Line and allowing WM to pursue lucrative waste-to-rail opportunities.
Recycle Capital engaged Lakeside Acquisitions to lead and execute the complete transaction process, with Lakeside serving as the exclusive M&A Advisor throughout the duration of the deal. Lakeside’s in-depth expertise in the waste and recycling industry helped provide niche insights and facilitate negotiations on behalf of Recycle Capital and the Barreto family to ensure a successful outcome. Polsinelli, LLP, acted as legal counsel for Recycle Capital throughout the transaction. The specific terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Medley, Florida, Recycle Capital is a premier C&D disposal and recycling company serving the greater Miami area. Its 4-acre transfer station and recycling facility is strategically located near Miami International Airport and Doral, providing access to the FEC Railway. Other service lines include waste hauling and disposal services, commodities sales, as well as compactor and baler rentals. Recycle Capital began as a reseller of scrap paper in the mid-1990s, pivoting away from commodity-based fiber sales in the late 2010s to focus on fee-based waste and recycling services, continually expanding its infrastructure to grow into the leading independent C&D disposal facility it is today.
